The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Economic Society of Singapore (ESS) have announced the launch of the MAS-ESS Essay Competition 2025. This year’s competition focuses on “Building Singapore’s Digital Asset Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges.”

The competition invites pre-university students in Singapore, regardless of nationality, as well as Singaporean students studying abroad, to explore the potential of Singapore becoming a leader in the digital asset ecosystem. Participants are encouraged to delve into critical factors such as infrastructure requirements, talent development, and regulatory frameworks within the global financial services landscape.

The essay competition is open to students from various educational institutions, including Polytechnics, Centralised Institutes, International Schools, and Junior Colleges, as well as pre-university full-time national servicemen. The top three essays will be awarded prizes of S$3,000, S$2,000, and S$1,000 respectively.

The competition’s terms and conditions, along with entry forms, are available on the ESS website (http://www.ess.org.sg). The submission deadline is April 20, 2025.

This initiative highlights Singapore’s commitment to fostering innovation and development in the digital asset space. The competition aims to stimulate critical thinking and encourage young minds to contribute to the evolving landscape of digital finance.
