ATxEnterprise 2026 Review: Southeast Asia’s Shift to Enterprise AI Deployment
Southeast Asia reached a critical turning point in its technological journey last week. From 20 to 22 May 2026, the Asia Tech x Enterprise (ATxE) conference at Singapore EXPO showed that the regional narrative has shifted decisively from AI ambition to real-world enterprise adoption. As a core part of the Asia Tech x Singapore platform, the event facilitated over 120,000 business interactions, reaffirming Singapore’s role as a strategic gateway for the global digital economy.

A Global Nexus for Innovation
With an impressive 55% international representation among speakers and exhibitors, ATxE 2026 brought together leaders from Japan, Europe, North America, Greater China, and across Southeast Asia. Far from being a simple showcase, the event featured more than 700 exhibitors and 450 speakers, including representatives from Microsoft, TikTok, and Rakuten, to discuss the future of digital infrastructure.
High-level policymakers from Indonesia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the European Union joined industry giants to address regional connectivity, sovereign AI, and digital trust. This diversity reflects a market that is no longer just experimenting but is now integrating AI into operations, cybersecurity, and long-term business strategy.
Rapid Growth Beyond the Tech Sector
The most significant trend observed was the surge in participation from traditionally non-tech industries. AI adoption is becoming business-critical across many sectors, evidenced by a record-breaking 500% increase in VIP buyers from Supply Chain, Logistics, and Transport. Other sectors showing strong growth included:
- Healthcare and Pharma: +320%
- Retail and FMCG: +80%
- Manufacturing: +37%
- Banking and Finance: +32%

With 71% of attendees holding manager-level positions or higher, the event served as a powerhouse for dealmaking and cross-border collaboration through the ATxConnect and Hosted Buyer programmes.
Practical AI Solutions for SMEs
In his opening address, Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, emphasised the need to move beyond buzzwords. He highlighted the importance of making AI practical and accessible for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

To support this mission, several key initiatives were launched:
- AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook: A guide for local firms based on insights from over 1,000 enterprises.
- Digital Enterprise Blueprint (DEB) Partnerships: New collaborations with Grab and RSM Stone Forest IT to help SMEs digitalise.
- SME AI Impact Awards 2026: An inaugural awards programme designed to encourage AI adoption within the SME sector.
Looking Ahead: What to Expect at ATxEnterprise 2027

As Joyce Wang, Event Director for ATxSG at Informa Festivals, noted during the closing panel, the conversation has moved from whether AI will be adopted to how it can be scaled responsibly and securely. Based on the momentum from this year’s review, ATxEnterprise 2027 (returning to Singapore EXPO from 26 to 28 May 2027) is likely to focus on several emerging themes:
- Sovereign AI and regional data governance: With more countries developing their own AI stacks, expect deeper discussions on cross-border data policies and cloud sovereignty.
- Agentic AI for enterprise workflows: Beyond chatbots and copilots, autonomous AI agents that handle complex, multi-step tasks will take centre stage.
- Green AI and sustainable computing: As energy consumption grows, sessions on efficient model training, low-carbon data centres, and ESG-aligned AI will expand.
- SME-centric AI marketplaces: Following the 2026 awards and playbook, 2027 may see the launch of curated, low-code AI tooling platforms tailored for smaller firms.
- Cybersecurity for AI-driven operations: With AI embedded into critical systems, expect more focus on adversarial threats, model validation, and resilient digital trust frameworks.
ATxEnterprise 2026 successfully translated high-level discussions into measurable business outcomes and practical partnerships. Setting the pulse for the digital economy, the conference will return in 2027 to continue shaping the future of innovation in Asia.
