Shape Singapore’s AI Future: Join the MAS-ESS Essay Competition 2026
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Economic Society of Singapore (ESS) have officially launched the MAS-ESS Essay Competition 2026, inviting pre-university students to delve into the theme “Singapore’s AI-Driven Economic Future.” Participants are encouraged to examine how artificial intelligence can boost productivity, create new industries, and strengthen Singapore’s competitive edge. The essay should also address critical challenges such as the impact on the labour market and the importance of ethical governance, ensuring that growth remains inclusive despite disruption.

Open to all pre-university students studying in Singapore, regardless of nationality, as well as Singaporean students abroad, the competition welcomes entries from Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, Centralised Institutes, International Schools, and even full-time national servicemen. The three best essays will be awarded prizes of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respectively. This is a unique opportunity for young thinkers to contribute ideas that could shape national policy and economic strategy.
Essays must be submitted by 1 May 2026, with terms, conditions, and entry forms available on the ESS website. Don’t miss this chance to influence Singapore’s AI-driven future!
