OCBC Aquatic Centre

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) has announced that Singapore will host the Citi Para Swimming World Series in 2023, making it the only Asian stop on the global tour. It is expected that over 150 high-performing and up-and-coming para swimmers from around the world will participate in this prestigious international swimming competition for elite para swimmers that will be held in nine countries across four continents.

Scheduled to be held from 29 April to 1 May at OCBC Aquatic Centre, Singapore Sports Hub, the event will see para swimmers compete for World Series titles. In addition, they will have the chance to qualify for the 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, which is a direct qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The competition is presented by Toyota. It will be an opportunity for the athletes to share their stories and battles in defying stereotypes about physical, visual and intellectual impairments with the rest of the world. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is an international non-profit organisation that governs the Paralympic Games. The IPC organises the Paralympic Games and is the international federation for nine sports.

The event is being hosted by SDSC, an organization that has been instrumental in promoting and encouraging participation among disabled persons in sports. The council aims to provide equal opportunities for disabled athletes to engage in sports and lead an active lifestyle, regardless of their disabilities. In addition to the exciting races, ticket holders will also gain exclusive access to a festive village before the finals. Here, they can redeem food treats, play games and try to pick up a limited edition series toy.

Each day pass ticket will entitle entry to both the heats and finals of the day and a festive village redemption card. With Singapore playing host to this world-class sporting event, there is no doubt that it will be an unforgettable experience for all.
