Contemporary artist Santu Song, one of China’s most celebrated artistic personalities of our generation, is bringing her digital artworks and NFTs to Singapore for the first time. Her immersive exhibition, Santu’s Multiverse, will be held at ION Art in ION Orchard from May 3rd to May 12th, 2023.
Santu’s Multiverse is a unique exhibition juxtaposing nature, spirituality, and humanity with technology. The artist’s bright and cheery creations are presented in a different light, propagating the flourishing of human existence and experiences through her contemporary artworks that are inherently numinous and profoundly rooted in shamanism and otherworldly mysteries of the Universe. Her totem-like configurations, colours, and liberal use of symbols like ‘eyes’ reflect the viewers’ souls, while gigantic ‘blossoms’ represent feminine beauty, strength and unity. The exhibition reveals the might of Mother Nature in a digitized world.
Although cheerfully presented, Santu’s creations call into question the significance of digitization in human flourishing – the purest of all human endeavours – and the purpose of a well-lived life.
