HONOR Magic V6 Sets ASIA Record for Foldable Durability Ahead of Singapore Launch
HONOR has officially announced that its next-generation foldable flagship, the HONOR Magic V6, will launch in Singapore on 4 June 2026. To mark the occasion, the device has already made headlines by setting a new ASIA Record for the “Heaviest Aircraft Towed by a Foldable Smartphone”.
During an exclusive showcase at SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre, the ultra-thin foldable used its hinge mechanism to tow a 1.25-tonne Diamond DA42 aircraft across 150 metres. Beyond the aviation feat, the device survived pulling a Ferrari sports car for 30 metres and being used as a pull-up bar: remaining fully operational without any visible damage.
Engineered for Extreme Durability
The foundation of this performance is the new HONOR Super Steel Hinge. Rated at 2,800 MPa tensile strength, the hinge provides exceptional rigidity and has completed 500,000 folding-cycle tests. This is equivalent to more than 13 years of daily use.
Measuring just 8.75mm when folded, the HONOR Magic V6 also incorporates an AI-assisted bionic cushioning system. This technology is designed to disperse impact forces and protect internal components from accidental drops.
Advanced Display Technology
The HONOR Magic V6 introduces several innovations to protect its screens from daily wear and tear:
- Outer Display: Featuring the HONOR Anti-Scratch Nano Crystal Shield with a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating. It offers 10x improved drop resistance and 15x improved scratch resistance compared to the HONOR Magic V5.
- Inner Display: Utilising HONOR Magic Diamond Screen technology with Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) to minimise creasing and improve stability.
The device is also the first HONOR foldable to achieve both IP68 and IP69 ratings. This means it can withstand dust and water depths of up to 1.5 metres, making it one of the most resilient foldables available.
Launch and Reservation Details
The HONOR Magic V6 will be available in four colours: Ferghana Red, Sunrise Gold, Ivory White, and Classic Black.
Consumers in Singapore can reserve the device with a $100 deposit from 25 May to 3 June 2026. Early bird customers will receive a complimentary HONOR Magic Pen worth $159. Reservations can be made via HONOR Experience Stores, official online platforms like Lazada and Shopee, and major retailers including Harvey Norman and Gain City.
